## How they fit together

Confirmed orders and manufacturing generate demand or supply. Allocation calculates which requirements are covered by current stock and future receipts. The procurement policy defines how to replenish each item.

Forecasts are recommendations and do not count as supply of the forecast item. A manufacturing forecast can immediately generate demand for its components; when you convert it into a request or order, the manufactured product becomes part of expected supply.
