## Three different records

| Concept | What it represents |
| - | - |
| Stock movement | The audited change in a quantity. |
| Warehouse movement | The work of picking up and dropping off material between locations. |
| Logistics document | A receipt from a supplier or customer, or a shipment to a supplier or customer. |

Production, consumption, stock counts and adjustments also change stock. They are not recorded as receipts or shipments: they generate their own stock movement from the process that creates them.
