# Warehouse equipment and transports

> Distinguish resources that move material within the warehouse from transports assigned to loads.

Bold distinguishes **warehouse equipment** that moves material within the factory from **transports** assigned to load orders.

## Differences

| Concept | Use | Examples |
| - | - | - |
| Warehouse equipment | Executes movements between internal locations. | Forklift, pallet truck, trolley or manual transfer. |
| Transport | Identifies the logistics resource associated with a load order. | Your own truck, route, carrier or vehicle. |

A transport does not execute internal movements. Warehouse equipment does not replace the transport specified in a load.

## Warehouse equipment

Each piece of equipment has:

| Data | Use |
| - | - |
| Name | Identification the employee sees in work mode. |
| Type | **Machine** or **Manual**. |
| Related location | Internal location where Bold records material while the equipment carries it. |

When you create equipment, Bold also creates its related location. Pickups move material to that location. Drop-offs move it from there to the destination.

A piece of equipment can have only one movement in progress. You cannot deactivate it while it executes a movement or retains stock in its related location.

<Warning>
  Before deactivating equipment, complete its movement and check that **Current load** is empty.
</Warning>

## Transports

A transport is a named record you can reuse in several loads. The load order retains the assigned transport for planning and traceability.

Transport is required when creating a load order. Bold does not record capacity, license plate or weight restrictions in this concept. If you need to distinguish vehicles, routes or suppliers, use names your team recognizes.

When you delete a transport, it is no longer available for new selections. Existing orders retain their historical reference.

## When to configure each one

Configure **warehouse equipment** when a person needs to select how they will pick up and drop off material in work mode.

Configure a **transport** when the planner needs to group shipments and assign them to a specific load.
