# Execute your first MO

> Record the first execution of a manufacturing order from work mode.

Execute the MO to check the shop floor workflow. During the operation, Bold records who works, where they work, the quantity they complete, the materials they consume, and the stock they produce.

Use a small quantity. The goal is to validate operational recording before extending the workflow to more items or teams.

## Before you start

Check that:

* the MO exists and is neither cancelled nor blocked;
* the operation has a process and a compatible resource;
* the employee appears in **work mode**;
* the components exist if you will record consumption;
* the consumption or production location is clear if you work with stock;
* you can complete any required inspections.

## Execute the operation

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open work mode">
    Access it from the tablet, terminal, or computer used on the shop floor.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Select the employee">
    Identify who will record the activity. Time and actions will be associated with that person.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Find the operation">
    Locate the operation by MO, item, workstation, process, or work list.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Review the details">
    Check the item, planned quantity, workstation, components, and steps before starting.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Start the operation">
    Start work when the operation is ready and has no pending blocks.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Record progress">
    Enter the completed quantity, rejects, comments, or evidence if the workflow requires them.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Consume materials">
    Record the components used, location, and lot where applicable. Use actual quantities when they differ from those planned.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Finish">
    Close the operation when no work remains. If it was the only operation, check that the MO is finished.
  </Step>
</Steps>

## What is traced

| Record | Value |

| Employee | Shows who executed the work. |
| Resource | Indicates where the operation took place. |
| Time | Supports productivity and cost tracking. |
| Progress | Updates the completed quantity and MO status. |
| Consumption | Reduces component stock if the workflow records materials. |
| Production | Increases finished item stock where applicable. |

<Check>
  When you close the operation, check that the finished item appears as produced and the MO shows the expected status.
</Check>

## If something is blocked

| Block | What to check |
| - | - |
| The operation does not appear | MO status, assignment, workstation, date, or view filters. |
| You cannot start | Initial inspections, restrictions, tool, resource, or permissions. |
| You cannot consume materials | Stock, location, lot, or input configuration. |
| You cannot finish | Final inspections, completed quantity, required comments, or permissions. |

## Complete the cycle with a shipment

Dispatch is optional in getting started. Do it if you want to check that produced stock can be shipped against the order.
