# Define production shifts

> Define the weekly windows when the factory or its resources can execute operations.

**Work shifts** define when the plant and its resources are available. Sequencing uses these windows to plan operations.

<Note>
  **Example:** in a factory operating 24 hours a day, machines start on Monday at 06:00 and do not stop until Saturday at 06:00. The manufacturing shift is a continuous 120-hour block.

**Path:** **Production > Shifts > Add shift**

**Day of the week:** select the shift days and specify the start and end times of activity.
