# Plan and prepare a load

> Group pending goods, schedule the load order, and request transfer to the loading location.

A [load order](/en/concepts/warehouse/load-orders-and-provisioning) groups sales order quantities that will leave together. Before executing it, define the transport, date, and location where the goods should be prepared.

## Register transports

**Transports** represent the vehicle, carrier, route, or means assigned to a load order.

**Path:** **Warehouse > Loads and shipments > Transports**

<Steps>
  <Step title="Create the transport">
    Click **Create new transport**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Identify it">
    Enter a recognizable **Name**, such as `SEUR`, `Own van`, or `Customer collection`.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save the transport">
    Click **Create**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Register the transport before planning the first load. In the order form, only the transport and selected lines are required.

## Group pending goods

**Path:** **Warehouse > Loads and shipments > Load planner**

The table view offers two ways to select goods:

* **Full orders** includes all order lines that still have quantities available to load.
* **Lines** lets you select specific quantities from one or more lines.

<Steps>
  <Step title="Select orders or lines">
    Select whole orders or open the **Lines** tab. When working by line, enter **Quantity to load** without exceeding the available quantity.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Choose where to add the selection">
    Click **Create load order** to start a new order. To extend an order that has not started, select **Add to an existing one**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Complete planning">
    For a new order, select the **Transport**. Also configure **Name**, **Planned date and time**, **Loading location**, and **Requires validation before completing**, according to the process.
  </Step>
</Steps>

<Info>
  An order remains **Pending planning** while it lacks a date, loading location, or lines. It becomes **Planned** when it has all three.
</Info>

## Schedule loads on the calendar

Switch to **Calendar view** to organize orders by week or month.

* Drag an order from **Unscheduled** to the day you want to load it.
* Drag an order to another day to reschedule it.
* Return it to **Unscheduled** to remove its date.
* Double-click an order to open its details.

If you assign a date from the calendar to an order that had none, Bold retains the other data and sets the time to 08:00. If the order already had a time, it keeps it when changing the day.

## Review the order and request materials

**Path:** **Warehouse > Loads and shipments > Load orders**

The list shows status, name, transport, planned date, loading location, and the number of lines and shipments. Use **Hide cancelled** and **Hide completed** to focus on pending loads.

Open an order to review its **Lines**, **Shipments**, **Validation**, and **Time entries** tabs. Before starting, you can also change planning data and add or remove lines.

Request materials when you need to transfer goods to the loading location:

<Steps>
  <Step title="Check preparation">
    Review provisioning status and each line's **Ready** and **Incoming** quantities.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Request materials">
    Click **Request materials**. This action is available for **Planned**, **Loading**, or **Paused** orders with lines and no previous request.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Execute movements">
    The warehouse team can complete generated movements from **Work mode > Warehouse > Movements**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

Bold indicates whether it requested materials or none remain pending. Once the order is marked as requested, the button no longer appears.

## Next step

Once the goods are prepared, [execute and close the load order](/en/guides/warehouse/execute-and-close-a-load-order) from work mode.
