# Work with packages and containers

> Group physical stock to move and locate it as a unit.

A **package** is an identifiable physical unit, such as a box, pallet, or drum. The **container type** defines the package's format and dimensions.

## Create a container type

**Path:** **Warehouse > Container types**

  <Step title="Create the type">
    Click **Create new container type**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter its data">
    Enter the **Name** and, where applicable, **Width**, **Length**, and **Height** in millimeters.

  <Step title="Save the type">
    Click **Create**.
  </Step>

## Create a package

**Path:** **Warehouse > Containers**

  <Step title="Create the package">
    Click **Create new container**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Specify where it is">
    Select the location and container type.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Identify it">
    Enter a **Code** or let Bold generate one.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save the package">
    Click **Create**.
  </Step>
</Steps>

In the package details, you can add or remove contents by item, lot, and quantity. Use its code to identify it during movements.
