Preventive maintenance defines rules for creating recurring work orders. A schedule is not a work order: it specifies when one should be generated and what initial information it should contain. Path: Maintenance > Preventive maintenance > Create schedule
1

Identify the schedule

Add a name that identifies the scheduled maintenance.
2

Select the asset

Specify the asset on which it should be performed.
3

Define the cause

Select the reason for the maintenance.
4

Configure frequency

Specify how often it should be performed. Use Weekdays to generate it Monday through Friday.
5

Configure the time

Enter the planned time or times for performing it.
6

Select the generation policy

Choose how Bold should act if an open work order already exists.

Generation policies

An open work order is pending, in progress, or paused.
Example: you want to inspect packaging machine ENV-01 every Monday at 06:00. Create a Weekly inspection cause, add actions such as Check pressure, Clean filter, and Attach photo if there is wear, and use Skip if there is an open work order. If the previous week’s work order is still open, Bold does not create another.

Enable, disable, and delete

You can change these options from the Actions column in the main preventive maintenance view or from the schedule details.
  • If a schedule is enabled (green), Bold generates work orders when the next occurrence arrives.
  • Disabling it (red) preserves its configuration but stops generating work orders and clears the next pending generation.
  • Enabling it again makes Bold recalculate the next generation from the rule.
  • Deleting it disables it and you cannot recover it. Work orders it generated still link to it, and it appears in read-only mode with the Deleted label.
In the main view, you can enable Hide disabled and filter or sort by status, asset, cause, and frequency from the table header.

Generate a work order manually

Click Generate now from the schedule details, or the rocket icon in the Actions column of the main view, and confirm. Bold creates the work order using the current configuration. From the details, it takes you to the work order; from the main view, you stay in the list and the alert links to the created work order. This counts as a generation but does not change the next generation or consider the policy. In the details, the Generated work orders tab shows work orders from the schedule, excluding cancelled ones.
