Sequencing helps you decide when and where to execute manufacturing operations. Choose the workflow according to the scope of the change:

Sequence manually

Directly adjust target dates for specific orders or operations.

Create a production plan

Calculate and review a scenario with many operations before applying it.
Review the sequence periodically, for example daily or weekly, to prepare the next shift’s work.
Also review it when factory conditions change.
Examples: a primary machine breaks down, a supplier delays an essential raw material, or an urgent order arrives requiring a change to the current schedule.

Before you start

Check that orders have open operations, defined processes, compatible workstations, consistent restrictions, and target dates. Also review material availability where applicable. Sequence manually when the change is specific and you know the priority to apply. Create a production plan when you need to calculate a complete scenario, check restrictions, or compare the result before sending it to the shop floor.
