Before you start
You need:- a registered employee;
- the work days and shift you want to assign;
- a local calendar if the person should follow site-specific public holidays or closures;
- permission to manage employee scheduling.
Assign the regular schedule
Path: People > Employees > Employee > Schedules1
Assign the local calendar
Select the calendar containing the public holidays, closures and special work days that apply to the employee. Leave it unassigned if they do not need these shared exceptions.
2
Assign the shift
Select the appropriate fixed or rotating pattern. In Start date, specify when the shift cycle begins.
3
Select the time zone
Choose the zone of the place where they work, such as Europe/Madrid.
4
Save the changes
Click Save changes to apply the calendar, shift and time zone.
Add individual exceptions
Use Date assignments for leave, one-off shift changes or other exceptions that affect only the employee.1
Find the date
Navigate through the calendar to the relevant month and click the date you want to change.
2
Select the work day
Choose the Work day type that should apply that day and click Assign.
3
Remove an exception
Click a date that already has an assignment to remove it. Bold determines that day’s work day again from the employee’s local calendar and shift.
An assignment for a particular date takes priority over the local calendar and repeating shift pattern. See Work days, calendars and shifts to understand the full order.
