A stock adjustment corrects an individual difference between the recorded quantity and physical stock. Use it when you have identified what to correct and do not need a full stock count. Bold records the adjustment as a technical stock count with one line. History retains the location, lot, specified final quantity, applied difference, and comment.

When to use an adjustment

Use an adjustment to:
  • correct a small discrepancy detected outside a stock count;
  • record known wastage;
  • correct a discrepancy when its source movement cannot be reconstructed;
  • adjust a location or lot after an investigation.
Do not use adjustments to hide recurring errors. If discrepancies occur frequently, review receiving, picking, consumption, shipments, or stock counts.

Path: Catalog > Items > Item to change > Warehouse
1

Identify the affected stock

Review the item, location, and lot. Make sure a recent movement does not explain the difference.
2

Adjust stock

Record the total quantity you counted for that item at the location.Location: select the specific area or shelf holding the item’s stock from the dropdown.Quantity: enter the total physical stock that should be recorded.Comments (optional): briefly explain the adjustment to maintain traceability, for example Material damaged during transfer or Discrepancy after counting.Click Adjust to apply the change.
3

Review the result

Check stock and movements to confirm the final quantity is correct.

What Bold records

If you do not select a lot for an item without lot management, Bold uses the internal unknown lot. For items with lots, select the actual lot to preserve traceability.

Adjustment or stock count

If the discrepancy affects many items or locations, create a stock count. This is clearer than a series of separate adjustments.
