Design permission profiles by responsibility so each person can access only the areas and actions they need. Reusing profiles avoids duplicating configuration for each user.

Differences between user, employee and profile

  • User: account that signs in on a computer or tablet, such as office@company.com.
  • Employee: person whose work is planned or recorded in work mode.
  • Permission profile: set of permissions you assign to a user. In the interface, profiles are configured under Roles.

Before creating profiles

List actual responsibilities:
  • company administration;
  • purchasing;
  • sales;
  • warehouse;
  • planning;
  • manufacturing;
  • maintenance;
  • costs;
  • reports and analysis;
  • integrations.

Create profiles

Path: Control panel > Roles
1

Create reusable profiles

In Name, enter an actual factory function. Use profiles such as Warehouse, Purchasing, Manufacturing or Administration when several people share permissions.In Description, briefly explain the profile’s scope.
2

Configure permissions

Select the permissions the profile needs in each module. Actions appear with their actual names, such as View, Edit, Activate, Work or Sequence, depending on the area.
3

Save the profile

Click Save. You can then assign the profile to registered users from Control panel > Users.

Periodic review

Avoid using an administrator profile for everyday work. Reserve broad permissions for configuration and support tasks.
