Processes are reusable categories of productive work, such as cutting, assembly, welding, painting, or inspection. They connect a recipe operation with resources capable of performing it. An operation specifies the process it needs; Bold can propose or limit workstations compatible with that process.

Steps to follow

Path: Production > Processes > Add new type Name: use a short technical name identifying the action, such as Pressing, Packaging, Drilling, or Quality control. Description: detail the tasks included in the process. For example, for Joining pieces in textiles, you could write Construction and sewing (overlocking and flat stitching) of front and back panels.

Assign workstations to the process

After creating the process, specify the workstations where it can run. Assign one or more as appropriate. Path: Production > Processes > Created process + Assign workstation Workstation: select the machine, line, or table where the process can run. For example, for Welding, select TIG welding workstation 02.
If the workstation you need does not appear, make sure you have already created it in Prepare work centers and machines.
Efficiency (%): enter this workstation’s rate for the process. 100 % represents standard speed.
  • If the workstation runs at the standard rate: leave it at 100 %.
  • If it runs more slowly: reduce the percentage, for example to 80 %. The system calculates longer production times when using this workstation.
  • If you do not need this level of detail, leave the default: 100 %.
Workstation type (Primary or Auxiliary): defines this machine’s role in the process.
  • Primary: usual workstation for the process. Each process has one primary workstation. Assign equivalent lines as auxiliary workstations; selecting another primary changes the previous one to auxiliary.
  • Auxiliary: backup workstation used when the primary workstation is unavailable or unsuitable for a particular job.
Example: for a Bottling process, mark Automatic line 01 as Primary and Manual packaging table as Auxiliary for emergencies or small lots.
