Before you begin
Before your onboarding session starts, it helps to have a few things ready. You do not need everything from day one, but having this information available speeds up your configuration considerably.- A list of the modules you want to activate first (e.g. MES, WMS)
- Your product catalogue (SKUs, bill of materials if applicable)
- A list of users and their roles (operators, supervisors, managers)
- Your warehouse layout and location structure (if using WMS)
- Any existing data you want to import (open work orders, stock levels)
Step-by-step onboarding journey
Book a demo
Head to bold-factory.com and click Schedule a demo. During the demo, you will see the platform in action and discuss your factory’s specific needs with a Bold Factory specialist. This session is also where you choose your plan and confirm your start date.
Receive your account credentials
Once your subscription is confirmed, you will receive a welcome email with your account credentials and a link to access the platform. Bold Factory runs entirely in the cloud — there is nothing to install and no servers to provision.
Check your spam folder if the welcome email does not arrive within a few minutes of signing up. The sender address is noreply@bold-factory.com.
Join your kickoff call
Your dedicated onboarding specialist will schedule a kickoff call to walk through your goals, agree on a configuration plan, and set milestones. This call kicks off your included onboarding hours — 15 hours on Lite or 25 hours on Pro.Use this session to ask questions, flag constraints, and align on which module you want to go live with first.
Configure your account
Working together with the Bold Factory team, you will configure your processes, import your data, and set up your users. The specialist guides you through each module’s settings so the platform reflects how your factory actually works — not a generic template.
Train your team
Onboarding hours include team training. Involve your operators early — Bold Factory’s interface is designed to be intuitive for shop-floor users, so short hands-on sessions are usually enough to get them comfortable. Managers and supervisors typically need a separate session covering dashboards, reporting, and configuration settings.
Operator buy-in is the single biggest factor in a successful rollout. The earlier you involve them, the smoother your go-live will be.
Accessing the platform
Bold Factory is a cloud application, so you can access it from any device with a modern web browser — desktop, tablet, or mobile. There is no app to install and no VPN required.| Device | Recommended use |
|---|---|
| Desktop / laptop | Configuration, dashboards, planning, purchasing |
| Tablet | Operator work orders, warehouse picking, maintenance logs |
| Mobile | Quick status checks, approvals, notifications |
Exploring the dashboard
When you first log in, you land on the main dashboard. From here you can navigate to every module using the left-hand sidebar. Take a few minutes to:- Review your profile settings — set your language, timezone, and notification preferences.
- Explore each module — click through MES, MRP, WMS, CMMS, and AI Agents to get a feel for the layout.
- Check the notifications panel — this is where alerts, approvals, and AI Agent activity will surface.
Tips for a smooth onboarding
- Assign an internal champion. Nominate one person in your team who owns the rollout. They become the go-to contact for the Bold Factory team and the internal point of reference for your colleagues.
- Start narrow, then expand. Pick the module that solves your biggest current pain and get it running well before activating others.
- Use real data from day one. Avoid testing with dummy data for too long. Real data surfaces real issues early — and that is a good thing during onboarding.
- Encourage questions from operators. The Bold Factory interface is built for ease of use, but operators often have workflow-specific questions. Capture them during training and raise them with your specialist.
Getting help after onboarding
